【中古戰史4】雅爾若之戰（英法百年戰爭）

前段時間微博用戶「稚嫩的魔法師」發表了一個內容，具體是貞德攻破奧爾良後，一位英國貴族為了不向貞德投降，而冊封一位法國士兵為英國騎士後，對該士兵投降的故事，引起了微博和部分貼吧的熱烈討論。在這裡我將把這個歷史事件進行補充說明，希望能讓對這件事有興趣的觀眾們了解一下事情的始末。

1429年5月8日，經過貞德精彩的戰術指揮與吉爾．德．雷、拉海爾、布薩克、私生子迪努瓦等各路名將的英勇奮鬥，終於將英國人對奧爾良城池長達3年的包圍徹底破除，英國人意圖侵略法國南部的計劃破產，放棄對奧爾良一帶的侵略。雖然如此，仍有一部分英軍依然駐守在距離奧爾良不遠處的雅爾若，對奧爾良造成很大的困擾，且英軍當時也有其他零星據點在附近，法國人需要快速攻破雅爾若，以解除奧爾良東南方向的威脅，進一步粉碎英國人捲土重來的可能性。

6月6日，查理七世召見貞德，下令讓貞德率兵攻略雅爾若，而王家軍隊則由查理七世信任的新晉指揮官阿朗松公爵所統帥，全軍徐徐向雅爾若進發。

6月初旬，在貞德準備行軍前，奧爾良居民們自發為軍隊獻上各種物資和多門尺寸不一的射石大砲，據說奧爾良居民不信任新來的阿朗松公爵，所以物資全都交給了貞德①。在奧爾良之戰裡努力奮戰、和貞德有著深厚戰友關係的吉爾．德．雷元帥也四處借錢儲備資金，將這筆資金交給了貞德，這時候為了幫助貞德，吉爾元帥找了許多富有的人借錢，欠下了一大筆外債，眨眼之間就陷入了財政困難的窘況②。

6月11日，法軍正式出發。貞德和阿朗松公爵500人作為先鋒部隊率先出發，晚上到達雅爾若叢林。在雅爾若郊區，法軍碰上了已經在良好地形上列陣的英軍，法軍士兵們舉棋不定，不確定是否應該發動攻擊，因此慢慢往後撤，貞德見此立刻翻身上馬，手持軍旗就單騎衝向了敵軍，見到此景的法軍受到鼓舞，發動衝鋒突破了英軍的防守③。6月12日早上，部分法軍將領前來與貞德匯合，總數約2000到3000人，準備攻略雅爾若城。雙方的軍隊人數十分接近。

英國人在雅爾若有兩座相連的城池，城池的北面是羅亞爾河，只有一座橋樑通往此處，而在東南西3個方向則建設了防禦工事。駐紮在雅爾若的是英國名將薩福克伯爵④，他帶領大約700人做好抵抗法軍的準備，他的附近也有英國的歷戰老將約翰．法爾斯托夫⑤，而法爾斯托夫已經從巴黎帶了2000名士兵前來雅爾若支援薩福克伯爵。得知這個消息後，法軍將領們紛紛表示不想和可怕的法爾斯托夫交戰，有些還趁別人不注意偷偷率領部下逃跑了。貞德出面穩固軍心，她說「神在指引我們」，深信貞德的阿朗松公爵也幫忙把逃走的人勸服。

④薩福克伯爵（Earl of Suffolk），本名威廉．德．拉．波爾（Willaim de la Pole），是英國在百年戰爭後期起用的新晉將領，本來只是家族的次子，不具備領地和爵位的繼承權。但隨著父親和兄長相繼去世，威廉抓住機會崛起，參與了許多英國入侵法國的重要戰事，憑藉戰功被授予騎士勳章。

⑤約翰．法斯托爾夫（Sir John Fastolf），1378年出生的他如今已經是51歲的老將，名聲響徹英法兩國，被一位侍衛評價「殘忍且報復心極強的人」。

阿朗松公爵派遣拉海爾勸降薩福克伯爵，在勸降無效後，6月12日中午，阿朗松公爵下令攻擊雅爾若城，在戰場上，貞德再次身先士卒，冒著箭雨和砲彈往前衝鋒。突然，貞德在一瞬間發現了雅爾若城上有一門大砲瞄準了阿朗松公爵，貞德對阿朗松公爵大喊：

「快走開！」

阿朗松公爵剛走開，就有一名貴族在剛才的位置附近被炸死⑥。阿朗松公爵在日後寫回憶錄編年史時也仍舊心有餘悸。

貞德拿著軍旗登上雲梯，被一塊石頭砸中受傷掉了下來，但又立刻站了起來鼓舞友軍繼續攻擊。戰鬥持續了4個小時，法國人爬上了城牆，薩福克伯爵決定棄城逃跑，在逃跑的路上，法軍將領奧弗涅（Martiald'Auvergne）的軍隊追上了薩福克伯爵，奧弗涅的侍從紀堯姆．雷納德（Guillaume Regnault）一把抓住薩福克伯爵。

薩福克伯爵詢問雷納德「你是一名紳士嗎？」雷納德回答道「是的。」

「那，你是騎士嗎？」

「並不是。」

薩福克伯爵十分討厭貞德，認為她是不祥的女巫，極度不願意被貞德俘虜，所以薩福克伯爵當場決定冊封雷納德為英國的騎士，提拔了雷納德的身份，然後向雷納德投降⑦。

⑦《Journal du siège》：The wall wasscaled and the French King's men penetrated into the town. The English fledinto La Beauce and the French rushed in pursuit of them. Guillaume Regnault, asquire of Auvergne, came up with the Earl of Suffolk on the bridge and took himprisoner.

"Are you a gentleman？" asked Suffolk.

"Yes."

"Are you a knight？"

"No."

The Earl of Suffolk dubbed him a knight and surrendered tohim.

雅爾若之戰在數小時內就結束了。此戰中法軍2000〜3000人的軍勢裡只陣亡了20人，英國約2700名士兵中，包含戰後被屠殺共有500人被害。法國人在貞德的領導下一轉頹勢，顛覆了英國人長久以來占據優勢的局面。
